Brought on to rebuild the Marketing & Communications team at a 22,000-member nonprofit association.

Led the rebranding of the corporate identity, served on the company's Leadership Team and led the company's Innovation Team.

Led the marketing communications initiatives within the AMS umbrella of companies. Managed the Creative Services department in a direct response environment. Responsible for all print and digital advertising and marketing communications (corporate and product collateral, radio spots, magazine ads, direct mail, e-mail and web offers). Managed department budget including all vendor negotiations. Developed clear strategies and processes that supported on-time delivery and follow-through of all creative output while maintaining profitability/budget goals.

Oversaw all creative projects and staff, responsible for department and client budgets and overall quality of work. Translated client marketing objectives into creative strategies. Heavy client interface: acted as primary contact from point of sale through campaigns; responsible for client satisfaction; participated in sales presentations to generate new communications business. Heavy staff interface across all departments. Generated proposals and contracts for campaigns; developed department procedures; managed full-time staff of eight as well as contractor group that scaled as needed. Provided department forecasting to finance department as well as conducted post-program audits.

Marketing & Publicity Manager
Managed all aspects of marketing and publicity for new titles; developed relationships with authors, bookstores and media to promote titles; wrote, designed, and/or supervised production of all marketing pieces (press kits, direct mail pieces, etc.). Edited books as needed. Managed booth and staffed trade shows. Served as Director of the Midwest Independent Publishers Association Book Awards—planned all aspects of event, secured judges and emceed the event.
